Since its foundation in 1996, btS - Life Sciences Studierendeninitiative e.V. has established itself as an indispensable bridge between students, industry and universities. With over 1100 active members at 21 German university locations, btS is the largest and only student initiative in the life sciences with nationwide representation.

The quarterly magazine |transkript has been successfully covering the life sciences in German-speaking Europe for 30 years: the focus is on biotechnology and biopharma in business, research and politics – detailed background reports on highly relevant topics are enhanced by news, comments, interviews and service sections, including the special sections LABORWELT and medtech zwo in all issues.
The magazine is published quarterly with four issues per year.

Verband Biologie, Biowissenschaften und Biomedizin (VBIO e. V.)
Der VBIO ist der größte deutsche Verband für Biowissenschaften.
Als Dachorganisation vereint er über 5.000 Einzelmitglieder, 26 institutionelle Mitglieder (Fachgesellschaften mit zusammen über 25.000 Mitgliedern) sowie 79 kooperierende Mitglieder, darunter Unternehmen, Fakultäten und Institute.
Die Mitglieder des VBIO decken das gesamte Spektrum der Biowissenschaften ab, von der Molekular- und Zellbiologie über organismische und ökologische Studien bis hin zum biomedizinischen Bereich. Sie sind in Academia, Bildung, Wirtschaft, Verwaltung oder als Freiberufler tätig.
Der VBIO finanziert sich aus Mitgliedsbeiträgen.
